This pint container of elderberry juice is made with elderberries grown on the Goat Milk Stuff farm.
Why Drink Elderberry Juice: Elderberries are wonderful for immune support. They are used to help prevent and treat colds and the flu.
How to Sweeten: The elderberry juice is pretty strong as is. We recommend adding sweetener to taste. Sweeteners can be your choice of honey, maple syrup, white sugar, brown sugar, stevia, molasses, or any sweetener you have on hand. At the Jonas house, we add 1- 2 Tbsp raw honey to each pint jar. Remember that honey is not recommended for children under 1 year of age.
Suggested Dosage: The Jonas family takes 1 Tbsp per day for prevention of colds and flu. If treating, we will take 1 Tbsp up to 3 times per day. Children 10 and under usually just get 1 tsp (instead of 1 Tbsp) but we vary it depending on size.
Storage: Canned elderberry juice with the seal intact will last for years. We recommend using it within 1 year for maximum effectiveness. Once open, store in the refrigerator and use within 2-3 weeks. If you will not use it that quickly, freeze it in ice cube trays and thaw as needed.
Growing Conditions: There are no pesticides or herbicides used anywhere on the farm, including the gardens. The soil is enriched with lots of compost and manure so that everything grown is nutritious as possible.
Ingredients: Elderberry juice, lemon juice.
